Who is Chabu for?
People who understand more Mandarin than they can comfortably say — heritage speakers, partners, adults between tutoring hours, or anyone stuck waiting to feel “ready.”
Can beginners use it?
Yes. Start at HSK 1, keep pinyin visible, and use English help when you need it. You can turn that support down as speaking gets easier.
Is it on iPhone?
The private beta is iPhone-only for now. We’ll say when that changes.
Is conversation audio stored?
Audio is sent for transcription and voice replies when you speak. Chabu does not keep raw recordings after processing unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
